Fighting Off Colds & Flu
When we talk about the prevention of colds & flu, we may discuss supporting the immune system with Beta Glucans, Vitamin C and Zinc. But what happens when it’s too late? In this blog, Jenny Logan offers some suggestions to help fight off these bugs as quickly as possible once you have succumbed.
For children, look for nutrients including Vitamin C, Vitamin D3 and Zinc. These vital nutrients all support healthy immune function and should help them fight infection off more effectively. It may be worth combining these with an elderberry syrup – a pleasant tasting product which has a reputation for helping to tackle cold & flu.
For adults, there is the additional option of adding some Echinacea to your regime. Echinacea is a traditional herbal medicine, which has been found to help fight colds & flu, through traditional use. Echinacea can be used safely by those over 12 and should help to reduce the duration and severity of any infection. It can also be used safely alongside any over the counter symptom relief product.
WHY TAKE ECHINACEA ALONGSIDE OTHER COLD & FLU REMEDIES?
Many over the counter cold and flu remedies simply aim to make life more comfortable – for example by temporarily unblocking the nose or soothing the cough. However, they do nothing though to reduce the duration of the infection, or to pick your immune system up afterwards to prevent another bug attacking you. Echinacea taken alongside these other remedies could help to reduce the duration of your infection – helping to get you back into fighting form as quickly as possible. Additionally, because it is thought to help support the immune system, Echinacea should help to prevent further infections.
WHY NOT TRY NATURES AID ECHINEEZE?
